چکیده

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of non-coding RNAs that hybridize to mRNAs and induce either translation repression or mRNA cleavage. Recently, it has been reported that miRNAs could possibly play an important role in human diseases. By integrating miRNA target genes, cancer genes, miRNA and mRNA expression profiles information, a database is developed to link miRNAs to cancer target genes. The database provides experimentally verified human miRNA target genes information, including oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes. In addition, fragile sites information for miRNAs, and the strength of the correlation of miRNA and its target mRNA expression level for nine tissue types are computed, which serve as an indicator for suggesting miRNAs could play a role in human cancer. The database is freely accessible at http://ppi.bioinfo.asia.edu.tw/mirna_target/index.html. Keywords—MicroRNA, miRNA expression profile, mRNA expression profile, cancer genes, oncogene, tumor suppressor gene

Effects of microRNAs polymorphism in cancer progression

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are known as a new class of small RNAs (18-25 nucleotides) that regulate gene expression at multiple levels from transcription to translation. Considering the important role of miRNAs in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, any variations in their expression can contribute to various anomalies, such as tumorigenesis. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have ...

بررسی بیوانفورماتیکی میانکنش بین میکرو RNAها با ژن‌های دخیل در عود مجدد سرطان پستان درمان شده با تاموکسیفن

Background and Objective: Tamoxifen is the most commonly used treatment for the patients with breast cancer called ER +, which prevents the expression of genes that are effective in the growth and proliferation of cancer cells by estrogen. Resistant to Tamoxifen is a major clinical problem in breast cancer treatment. In recent studies, the role of microRNAs in tamoxifen resistance has been rais...

Systematic enrichment analysis of microRNA expression profiling studies in endometriosis

Objective(s): The purpose of this study was to conduct a meta-analysis on human microRNAs (miRNAs) expression data of endometriosis tissue profiles versus those of normal controls and to identify novel putative diagnostic markers. Materials andMethods: PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Ovid Medline were used to search for endometriosis miRNA expression profiling studies of endometriosis. The miRN...

Differential genes expression analysis of invasive aspergillosis: a bioinformatics study based on mRNA/microRNA

Invasive aspergillosis is a severe opportunistic infection with high mortality in immunocompromised patients. Recently, the roles of microRNAs have been taken into consideration in the immune system and inflammatory responses. Using bioinformatics approaches, we aimed to study the microRNAs related to invasive aspergillosis to understand the molecular pathways involved in the disease pathogenes...

MicroRNAs as biomarkers associated with bladder cancer

Bladder cancer is the fifth most common cancer with significant morbidity and mortality. Recently, numerous studies demonstrated that microRNAs are emerging as diagnostic biomarkers for bladder cancer. Specific miRNA profiles have been identified for several samples from patients with bladder cancer. MicroRNAs are noncoding RNA molecules of approximately 23 nucleotides that play important roles...

CirculatingMiR-10b, MiR-1 and MiR-30a Expression Profiles in Lung Cancer: Possible Correlation with Clinico-pathologic Characteristics and Lung Cancer Detection

Circulating microRNAs have been recognized as promising biomarkers for the detection of lung cancer. The objective of this study was to evaluate miR-10b, miR-1 and, miR-30a in the plasma samples of lung cancer patients to confirm any possible relevance in the early detection of lung cancer. Plasma samples from 47 non-small-cell lung cancer patients and 41 cancer-free subjects were evaluated for...
